Blackstone House and Gardens

2019

Our extensive refurbishment of two landmark properties began at the Garden Court site, focusing on critical structural enhancements. We removed existing floorboards and notched the joists to accommodate new mechanical and electrical systems, installing over 7,500 m² of Envirograf P83 and EP90 barrier matting for fire safety across six floors.

We replaced 2,800 m² of defective floorboards with new 22mm pine boards, preparing for bespoke handmade carpets. The interior layout was reconfigured to create new offices, riser cupboards, and meeting rooms in the 6th-floor extension of Blackstone House, along with a connecting atrium.

Decorative restorations included ornate ceiling moldings and lime plaster architraves, treated with Mapei Soladit products, while all plastered areas were finished with high-quality Dulux paints. We also repaired 92 existing sash windows with resin timber care and applied a full Dulux Weathershield system for enhanced durability. External features, such as architectural railings, the staircase, and cast iron rainwater pipes, were revitalized, ensuring modern standards while preserving the buildings' historical charm.
